FELTON ROAD
Block 6 Chardonnay, Bannockburn, Central Otago 2015

TASTING NOTES

Block 6 comes from one of the oldest patch in the Elms Vineyard, the vines were planted between 1992 and 1994-“Riper fruit aromas containing hints of white peach fruit along with our characteristic grapefruit pith; emanate gracefully from this higher elevation and steeper north facing site. Stone fruit features again and combines with a textural and mouth coating palate to give a broad and expansive finish. Finely composed and nothing in excess, allowing articulate site expression” Blair Walter, winemaker

FELTON ROAD

Felton Road Wines is located in Bannockburn, Central Otago in New Zealand, the most southerly wine growing region in the world. Here, vineyards are nestled into small macroclimates totally surrounded by high mountains, many of which are snow capped all year round. Long recognized as an iconic producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Felton Road in 2010 received the award ‘Tipuranga Teitei o Aotearoa’, which translates from Maori as Great Growth or Grand Cru of New Zealand. Felton Road's style is less fruit driven and more structured and assertive than most New Zealand wineries - truly a testament to the quality that can be obtained with expert biodynamic farming and extreme attention to detail.
